Private Tutoring &
Academic Mentoring

“[Nicholas] is engaging, personable, and takes the time to get to know [his] students personally.”

Why Private Tutoring
and Academic Mentoring?

For many students, skills such as complex reading comprehension and formal writing—which are valued by professors and employerscan be difficult to acquire.

Personalized attention from a talented instructor is essential, and I can meet you where you are: whether you are learning how to write an essay, preparing for university, or learning English for the first time.

How It Works

Step 1: During an initial consultation, we assess your needs. For most students, this assessment will involve the discussion and analysis of at least one writing sample.

Step 2: Depending upon your needs, we will develop an individualized learning plan for you, including some or all of the following elements:

  • homework help
  • essay and research paper help
  • general academic skills help—how to take notes, how to use the library, and how to write an email to your teacher or professor in school
  • guided readings
  • strategies for reading
  • test preparation
  • a college application strategy
  • consultations with faculty and/or administrators at your school or university
  • short- and long-term goal setting

Step 3: Continue with as many—or as few—tutoring and mentoring sessions as you wish. Each session is fully private, and you will never have to compete with other students during the same session.

Additional services, including proofreading of your written work, are available upon request.
